Some more info

Belonging to the legendary family of filmstars, Kareena is the forth generation of Kapoors to have made a splash into films. With veteran actors like Prithviraj Kapoor and Raj Kapoor as her forefathers, Kareena had to face high levels of expectations from the very beginning.
Lovingly called Bebo, she was born in Mumbai to famous acting couple Babita and Randhir Kapoor on 21st September, 1980. Her elder sister is the very well known actress Karisma Kapoor, who is now married. In her early childhood days, her parents splitted.
Kareena had always wanted to stay away from the glam and glitz of showbiz. She was inclined to pursue law but destiny had other plans for her. She got the priviledge of debuting opposite Abhishek Bachchan in J.P. Dutta’s “Refugee” in 2000. Though the film flopped, Kareena was noticed as Karisma’s younger sis.
Confidence never went loose with Kareena as she was now determined to prove that acting ran through her veins. She was focused that she didn’t want to begin with “masala movies” like her sister had. She wanted good scripts with her roles to be meaningful and substantial. Luckily for her, she got good offers and things finally fell in place.
Initially, many of her films like “Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai”, “Yaadein” and “Asoka” and did not stir the box office. But Kareena had emerged as a very talented and beautiful actress. Kareena wanted her image to be of a good heroine and not just a star. So she was more careful in choosing her films.
Acting as a prostitute for the first time in “Chameli”, Kareena swept the audience and the critics off their feet. She was greatly appreciated for her acting and now people were taking this determined girl, seriously.
Films like Fida Aitraaz, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gum and 36 China Town, took Kareena’s career to greater heights. she had now established herself as a successful and very talented actress.
This 5’5” blue eyed damsel is presently dating our prince charming actor Saif Ali Khan after break up with Shahid Kapoor. Though she shies from the media, we know that she loves reading books, swimming and watching old movies. Kareena has a long road full of opportunities stretched out before her. Its for her to take full advantage of it and prove her true caliber.

Filmography

Indian actress and screen idol Kareena Kapoor specialized almost exclusively in Bollywood features; over the course of her career, she not only netted an audience sizeable enough to rival or outstrip the majority of her contemporaries, but balanced one of the heftiest workloads imaginable, with several films per year. Born in Mumbai, India, in 1980 as the daughter of two famous Bollywood actors (and the granddaughter of Indian screen veteran Raj Kapoor), Kapoor defied her father's wishes that she marry by following in the family tradition and pursuing a show-business career; her parents' disagreements about this caused a rift in their relationship, which forced the mother to leave home and work several jobs to support her two daughters. (The parents later reunited after a 20 year separation.)

Kapoor received a hand up in show business thanks to the doings of her sister Karisma, who also eked out an acting career. Kareena studied at such venerable institutions as Mumbai's Jamnabai Narsee School and Mithibai College (where she majored in commerce), then debuted onscreen in 2000, with a supporting role as Naaz in the three-and-a-half-hour epic Refugee. Thereafter, Kapoor's roles arrived quickly and furiously; subsequent projects included Asoka (2001), Yuva (2004), Bewafaa (2004), and Omkara (2006). In 2008, Kapoor provided a voice for the family-oriented Hindi-language animated film Roadside Romeo. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi
